The orbital evolution of Atira asteroids

چکیده
ABSTRACT Asteroids having perihelion distance q < 1.3 AU are classified as near-Earth objects (NEOs), which divided into different sub-groups: Vatira-class, Atira-class, Aten-class, Apollo-class, and Amor-class. 2020 AV2, the first Vatira (Orbiting totally inside Venus’ orbit) was discovered by Twilight project of Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF) on January 4. Upon discovery a couple orbital studies short-term evolution AV2 have been performed published (e.g. de la Fuente Marcos & 2020; Greenstreet 2020). In this work, we an assessment long-term known Atiras under Yarkovsky effect using Mercury6 N-body code. We considered not only planetary gravitational perturbation but also non-gravitational effect. Our calculation shows that NEOs generally two dynamical populations, one short-lived other long-lived. From our calculation, transfer probabilities Atira-class asteroids to Vatira-class for transition ∼13.1 ± 0.400, ∼13.05 0.005, ∼13.25 0.450 ${{\ \rm per\ cent}}$ values force (i.e. obliquity 0, 90, 180 deg), respectively. It suggests radiation may play some role in asteroid population. Finally, statistical study implicates there should be 8.14 0.133 1.05 0.075 Vatira-asteroids S-type taxonomy.

Orbital Stability Zones about Asteroids
We have numerically investigated a three-body problem consisting of the Sun, an asteroid, and an infinitesimal particle initially placed about the asteroid. We assume that the asteroid has the following properties: a circular heliocentric orbit at R -2.55 AU, an asteroid/Sun mass ratio of/~ -5 x 10-12, and a spherical shape with radius R A -100 km; these values are close to those of the minor p...

We have developed a model-independent analytical method for debiasing the fourdimensional (a, e, i,H) distribution obtained in any asteroid observation program and have applied the technique to results obtained with the 0.9m Spacewatch Telescope. From 1992 to 1995 Spacewatch observed ∼ 3740 deg2 near the ecliptic and made observations of more than 60,000 asteroids to a limiting magnitude of V∼2...
متن کاملEvolution of Comets Into Asteroids
In the past decade, new observations and new research tools have afforded us a better understanding of the interrelationships between comets and asteroids. The extensive automated surveys for near-Earth objects (NEOs) have serendipitously discovered many objects in comet-like orbits. Dynamical simulation codes have improved to the point where we can simulate the detailed orbital behavior of lar...
متن کاملPossibility of collision between co-orbital asteroids and the Earth
Considering hypothetical co-orbital asteroids with the Earth, Tatum (1997) presented a study about the necessary radial distance in order to produce collision. He adopted an analysis considering a composition of circular two-body systems, Sun-Earth and Sun-Asteroid. He found that asteroids with radial positions between 0.9943 and 1.0057 AU would necessarily collide with the Earth. In the presen...
